Biography

Ms. Fiona is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and holds an LLM in International Trade, Business and Investment Law from the University of Western Cape (UWC) with a passion for the International legal landscape and financial sector.

She has developed her expertise in Corporate Governance; Dispute resolution both Litigation and Alternative forms, Constitutional Law, Commercial Law and Trade Law. Ms. Fiona has worked with both private and public stakeholders as part of her training. This include Kenya National Commission on Human Rights where she worked with the Redress department and further developed her understanding of human rights and the constitutional processes and public interest litigation.

She has also worked with Ministry of foreign affairs in the registrar of treaties office. This allowed her to understand the inner workings of government and the prerequisite checks and balances set in place within the public system. Further, she practised at a top tier firm in the city that developed her skills, core strengths and competences that are;

  • Drafting and review; Contracts, Leases, letters of offer, Sale Agreement and Licenses within the timelines set in the Company’s Standard Operating Procedure Manual and compliance in policy and regulations.
  • Business legal Advisory: Drafting agreements, contracts, indemnities, wills, probate, declaration of trusts and affidavits for the firm and for the firm’s clients
  • Corporate Governance: Audit/Assessment of compliance to relevant governance codes and best practices, Board and Audit Committee effectiveness as members or independent advisors.
  • Internal Audits and Legal Health Checks: Advising and carrying out legal audits for clients leading up to sale of business or on client request.
